Vulnerability Summary for CVE-2012-2693

Original release date: 06/16/2012
Last revised: 01/14/2013

libvirt, possibly before 0.9.12, does not properly assign USB devices to virtual machines when multiple devices have the same vendor and product ID, which might cause the wrong device to be associated with a guest and might allow local users to access unintended USB devices.

CVSS Severity (version 2.0):
CVSS v2 Base Score: 3.7 (LOW) (AV:L/AC:H/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P) (legend)
Impact Subscore: 6.4
Exploitability Subscore: 1.9
CVSS Version 2 Metrics:
Access Vector: Locally exploitable
Access Complexity: High
Authentication: Not required to exploit
Impact Type: Allows unauthorized disclosure of information; Allows unauthorized modification; Allows disruption of service
