Original release date: 03/03/2004
Last revised: 03/07/2011

Multiple integer overflows in Microsoft ASN.1 library (MSASN1.DLL), as used in LSASS.EXE, CRYPT32.DLL, and other Microsoft executables and libraries on Windows NT 4.0, 2000, and XP, allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via ASN.1 BER encodings with (1) very large length fields that cause arbitrary heap data to be overwritten, or (2) modified bit strings.

CVSS Severity (version 2.0):
CVSS v2 Base Score: 7.5 (HIGH) (AV:N/AC:L/AU:N/C:P/I:P/A:P) (legend)
Impact Subscore: 6.4
Exploitability Subscore: 10.0
CVSS Version 2 Metrics:
Access Vector: Network exploitable
Access Complexity: Low
Authentication: Not required to exploit
Impact Type: Provides unauthorized access, Allows partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability violation; Allows unauthorized disclosure of information; Allows disruption of service
