Checklist Summary:

The Android 2.2 (Dell) Interim Security Configuration Guide (ISCG) and associated documents (e.g., Android 2.2 Technology Overview, Good Technology Android Hardening Guide, Android 2.2 (Dell) ISCG, Good Mobility Suite (GMS) Server (Android) STIG, Smartphone Policy STIG, General Wireless Policy STIG, and Wireless Management Server Policy STIG), provide security policy and configuration requirements for the use of any handheld device using Android 2.2 (Dell) in the Department of Defense (DoD). Guidance in these documents applies to all DoD Android devices with the Dell version of Android 2.2 used to store, process, transmit, or receive DoD information. This ISCG requires the use of a third-party security program/server (GMS) to provide secure email, security policy management, and data protection services on DoD Android devices. Future Android STIGs may include other third-party vendor security products or a "native" Android configuration when it has been determined that they provide required DoD security controls.
